Resolution of a Conflict

This lesson has been designed for all level of learners. There are three versions of the dialogue you hear in this video –

  1. in Devanagari script for students (13 yrs+) who are learning to read, write and speak in Hindi.
  2. in Roman script for students who are learning to speak in Hindi but do not wish to learn Devanagari script.
  3. and English translation of the dialogue.

Their boy was falling off the hill. My girls saved him. It was alright to save but that uncourtious boy started taking their photographs with his camera. Now just tell me sir brigadier. What will you do if your girls were playing in rain, if they were bathing in rain and some strange boy takes their pictures stealthily?

It is common to repeat a slightly changed form of a word to convey the sense of et-cetra as in vampyootar. khaanaa (food) vaanaa (etc.).

 The need for taking photos won't arise. You people are so beautiful that your picture registers straight in the heart. Now may I go. Good bye.

Here are some other frequently used words and sentences people use during a conflict. Please practice these by forming appropriate sentences.

Here are some other frequently used words and sentences people use to resolve a conflict or for apologizing out of a conflict. Please practice these by forming appropriate sentences.

With this lesson we conclude our Hindi speaking crash course. If you skipped any sections beccause they appeared tedious or boring, now is the time to go back and revise them. Although we do not claim to have covered every conceivable feature of speaking in Hindi, there is abudance of material in other sections of this CD which if assimilated correctly should help you to communicate with your friends successfully.

We strongly recommend that you also glance through the next section on Advanced Hindi Comprehension wherein we have provided many Hindi songs in Devanagari and Roman scripts. This section does not contain English translation so that you can test how far you can comprehend Hindi.

We assume that you started learning Hindi because you want to know about India, about her people, history and culture. There is no derth of books about India. Many have been translated or originally written and published in English and other foreign languages. However, you can get some preliminary information by reading our section on Indian History and Culture included on this CD.
